The Inside Passage's Tilly (Tilly) (DOB: 05/11/2006) 50% Grade Nubian - GN1388478
Please click on name for detailed pedigree information.
The Cooky&Cream (Cooky) (DOB: 04/02/2006) 50% Nubian/50% Oberhasli - E1397683
Cooky came to us in late June of 2008 as a 2 year old first freshener who was a little on the thin side having just weaned two very hungry % Boer kids. She has settled in very well and even managed to depose the reigning herd queen, Tilly. Update Summer 20110: Cooky kidded for the second time here with us in the spring of 2010. She was not bred in the fall of 2010 and has been milking for over a year as of May 2011. She is still giving us 6-7# of milk per day, Way to go Cooky!
Tilly has been with us since she was 6 days old and is our first Alaska goat and the founding member of the Ketchi-Kids herd. She has been deposed as our herd queen, but still retains the position of matriarch. Tilly kidded for the first time in 2008 and was pretty sick for a month or so afterward, but she bounced back very nicely and her milk production peaked at just shy of 9# per day. Tilly is a great producer who kidded with triplets in February of 2009 and her production for this lactation peaked at just over 13# per day. She was still giving us around 6# per day after almost 2 years. Tilly kidded in March with triplet bucks. I was hoping for a doe when I bred her, oh well, we'll try again in two years.

ZOE Perfect Storm (Stormy) (DOB: 12/11/2008) 75% Boer (25% Angora) - USBGA reg. # 090112263; ABGA reg. Pending
Stormy comes to us from Whitehouse Goats in Washington. Thanks to Elise and Zoe for letting us purchase this cute (and amusing) gal! Update Summer 2010: Stormy is the most easy-going goat I have ever seen. Nothing seems to bother her from hoof trimming, to new puppies to being milked for the first time. When her single doeling died in an accident we put her on the milkstand to milk her out and make her more comfortable and she stood like an old pro and didn't lift a hoof! Stormy presented us with a single doeling for the second year in a row, she is sold and headed to Petersburg, AK.. ***December 2010: Stormy's sire Perfection is now the first ennobled spotted FB Boer buck in the U.S.***
Ketchi-Kids Sampson's Latte (Latte) (DOB: 04/20/2009) USBGA Reg. 72% Boer - USBGA Reg.# 100105232
Latte is a doe that we didn't plan on keeping, but she turned out so sweet that we just couldn't give her up. She is one of those goats who is a bit on the shy side and, except for the feed she consumes, you'd never know she was there! Latte kidded on October 15 with a beautiful little doe kid out of our Nubian buck, Jazz. You can see her on our nursery page. Latte is currently housed with a loudly spotted FB Boer buck and we are hoping for some 86% boer July kids.
Black Mesa Langley's Blizzard (Bliz) (DOB: 02/22/2010) PB Nubian - N1507528
This little gal comes to us all the way from Black Mesa Ranch in Arizona. Kathryn tells me that she was born in a "near blizzard". They love their goats so much down there at Black Mesa Ranch that they ordered up a blizzard to try and help Bliz prepare for life in Alaska! Bliz kidded in March 2011 with a beautiful single doeling. Her udder has a wonderful texture with perfect sized teats for hand milking and is milking 5.5# per day as a first freshener.
Black Mesa Trinity's Blondie (Blondie) (DOB: 02/19/2010) 50% Nubian/50% Saanen - E1507527
During the time we were waiting for the kids that we had reserved to be born this little gal happened along on the Black Mesa Ranch in Arizona. We are partial to Experimentals and Grades here at Ketchi-kids and she was just too adorable not to add to our doe lineup, so Blondie made the trip north with a couple of Nubian friends. Blondie kidded with a single buckling in March 2011. She freshened with a very nice udder and is consistently giving us 7-8# of milk per day as a first freshener.

"I'm Baaaaad!"
Ketchi-Kids Cooky's Wee Wookie (Wookie) (DOB: 04/07/2010) 75% Nubian/25% Oberhasli - E1509589
Wookie has spent the last year eating and causing trouble. She decided that she was just too young to be a momma this spring so we will try again in the fall. ;0)

Black Mesa Lillith's Hollyhock (Holly) (DOB: 02/16/2011) PB Nubian - N1547177
Once again, coming to us all the way from the fine herd of Black Mesa Ranch in AZ. This girl has some FANTASTIC bloodlines and production records behind her and we are very excited to see what she can do for us here in our herd.
Reuel Brisa's WC Belated (Late) (DOB: 02/20/2011) PB Nubian - N1547180
This sweet little doe and her phenomenal bloodlines come to us from; Reuel Dairy Goats in Washington. She and her sister waited all the way to the end of the "10 day window" to make their appearance. This is what earned her the name "Belated". ;0)

Yearling Stormy
Baby Stormy
Black Mesa Espeez's Penelope (Penny) (DOB: 02/20/2011) Purebred Nubian - N1547174
Penelope is the littermate sister to our new junior herdsire, Alexander. We had reserved a doe or a buck from this particular breeding and when Espeez decided to be cooperative and give us one of each it was just impossible to pick one over the other and so we just bought them both! Hoping this beautiful little gal will follow in her mother's footsteps. Her dam, Espeez, has been a DHIR Elite Doe for 4 years running so she will have to take LARGE steps in order to keep up. ;0)

Ketchi-Kids Blizzard's Flurry (Flurry) (DOB: 03/26/2011) Purebred Nubian - PN1546184
Flurry was a single out of a first freshener and one of only 3 does born here this spring (the only PB Nubian). About 3am on the morning of her birth I heard a goat yell on the monitor. A quick look at the camera showed her dam, Blizzard, with a front end hanging out. By the time we got to the barn there was a beautiful little doeling laying on the straw and all four of the yearlings housed in that pen were standing on the other side of the stall starting at this terrifying thing that had just come out of Blizzard. This little group included Blizzard! Oh how I wish that I would have had my camera with me!
Blondie at one week old and the queen of the barrel! Thanks to Kathryn at BMR for the great pic!

O.K. So Penny has more than a bit of an underbite, but how can you resist this face? (Or the production records on her paperwork?!)

Flurry at 2 months old.

"... And another thing!"
Ketchi-Kids Cat Ballou (Lou) (DOB: 04/14/2011) 50% Nubian/50% Oberhasli - E1561294
Lou arrived 7 days after her estimated due date. She was a 9.3# kid out of a little first freshener Oberhasli doe and sired by a PB Nubian. Why Sue (the momma) felt that she had to "bake" this kid for SEVEN extra days is beyond me! Even though she was so big Lou entered the world pretty much unaided as her first freshener momma did a great job with little or no complaining. Lou is also the first kid out of one of our junior herdsires, congratulations Corey. ;0)
