The Cooky&Cream (DOB: 04/02/2006) 50% Nubian/50% Oberhasli - E1397683
Maggie with 6 weeks to go! She is no longer the smallest of the girls.
Maggie at 4 months

Cooky came to us in late June of 2008 as a 2 year old first freshener who was a little on the thin side having just weaned two very hungry % Boer kids. She has settled in very well and even managed to depose the reigning herd queen, Tilly. The udder pics to the right were taken on 07/26/2008. Cooky milked just over 3.7# after these pics were taken. Update Summer 2010: Cooky kidded for the second time here with us, giving us triplets, two does and a buck. She is producing around 10# a day after almost dying earlier this summer due to infection from a dog attack. She really is one "tough cookie". ;0)

Tilly has been with us since she was 6 days old and is our first Alaska goat and the founding member of the Ketchi-Kids herd. She has recently been deposed as our herd queen, but still retains the position of martiarch. Tilly kidded for the first time in 2008 and was pretty sick for a month or so afterward, but she bounced back very nicely and her milk production peaked at just shy of 9# per day. The udder pics to the right were taken on 07/26/2008 and Tilly milked 4.1# after they were taken. Update Summer 2010: Tilly kidded with triplets in February of 2009 and her production for this lactation peaked at just over 13# per day and is currently still giving us around 6# per day after over a year.
Maggie is the youngest of our March 2008 girls and is also the smallest. What she lacks in size she makes up for in guts (or foolishness) and is willing to take on anyone in a head-butting match, even our herd queen, Cooky! Maggie will be relocating to Tenessee this summer. She is going to be foundation stock for some good friends and hopefully produce some milk for milk, cheese and kefir!

ZOE Perfect Storm (DOB: 12/11/2008) 75% Boer (25% Angora) - USBGA reg. # 090112263
Stormy is the latest addition to our herd. She comes to us from Whitehouse Goats in Washington. Thanks to Elise and Zoe for letting us purchase this cute (and amusing) gal! Michaela says that she looks like "a lamb". Update Summer 2010: Stormy is the most easy-going goat I have ever seen. Nothing seems to bother her from hoof trimming, to new puppies to being milked for the first time. When her single doeling died in an accident we put her on the milkstand to milk her out and make her more comfortable and she stood like an old pro and didn't lift a hoof! We love our fluffy girl!

Ketchi-Kids Rebecca (DOB: 01/01/2009) Purebred Nubian - N1466740
Becca is only the second doe to carry our herd name and she was just too pretty to let her go. It also doesn't hurt that Mom and Grandma (on Dad's side) are no slouches when it comes to milk production. Becca kidded with twin bucklings on March 6, 2010 and freshened with a gorgeous udder! She is consistently milking between 3/4 and 1 gallon per day as a first freshener and we are very pleased with her. I do believe that she is also quite pleased with herself!
Just a wee babe in December of 2008.
Ketchi-Kids Sampson's Latte (DOB: 04/20/2009) USBGA Reg. 72% Boer - USBGA Reg.# 100105232
Latte is a doe that we didn't plan on keeping, but she turned out so sweet that we just couldn't give her up. She is one of those goats who is a bit on the shy side and, except for the feed she consumes, you'd never know she was there! We are hoping that she is bred to our Nubian buck, Jazz for September kids.

Black Mesa Langley's Blizzard (DOB: 02/22/2010) PB Nubian - N1507528
This little gal comes to us all the way from Black Mesa Ranch in Arizona. Kathryn tells me that she was born in a "near blizzard". They love their goats so much down there at Black Mesa Ranch that they ordered up a blizzard to try and help Bliz prepare for life in Alaska!
Black Mesa Trinity's Blondie (DOB: 02/19/2010) 50% Nubian/50% Saanen - E1507527
During the time we were waiting for the kids that we had reserved kids to be born this little gal happened along on the Black Mesa Ranch in Arizona. We are partial to Experimentals and Grades here at Ketchi-kids and she was just too adorable not to add to our doe lineup, so Blondie made the trip north with a couple of Nubian friends.

Blondie at one week old and the queen of the barrel! Thanks to Kathryn at BMR for the great pic!
"I'm Baaaaad!"

Yearling first freshener Becca one day after kidding with twin bucklings
Ketchi-Kids Cooky's Wee Wookie (DOB: 04/07/2010) 75% Nubian/25% Oberhasli - E1509589

We love our experimentals and were pretty disappointed last year when Cooky kidded with two beautiful, engaging little kids ... both of them bucks! This year she decided to make up for that the give us a doe that we could keep. Thanks Cooky.

First Freshener Becca on the milkstand in April 2010
Okanogan Oberhaslis AGN Sue (DOB: 04/26/2010) AM Oberhasli - AB1524079
This engaging little gal comes to us from St. John Creamery in Everett, WA. She was kind of an unplanned (but very pleasant) acquisition. A very nice outcome to a trade who is settling in very nicely and providing even more diversity to our already mixed herd! FYI the "AGN" in Sue's name stands for "A Goat Named". ;0)

Heeeere's Latte!!
Okanogan Oberhaslis Molly (DOB: 05/13/2010) AM Oberhasli - (pending)
This little gal also comes to us from St. John Creamery in Everett, WA. Went south to pick up a doeling for a friend and she ended up coming along for the ride! Now Sue doesn't have to feel like the "odd goat out". ;0)
